Sukeltaminen on loistava tapa tutustua vedenalaiseen maailmaan ja oppia tuntemaan itseään paremmin.
Dive With A Finnillä tarjoamme sukelluskursseja kaikentasoisille, aloittelijoista ammattilaisiin. Kurssimme toteutetaan yleensä pienryhmissä, siten että kouluttajaa kohden on kaksi oppilasta—näin voimme tarjota sinulle parhaan mahdollisen huomion ja maksimaalisen mukavuuden kurssin aikana.
Meiltä löytyy kaikki varusteet vakio-ABC-laitteistosta tekniseen sukellusvarustukseen. Tällä hetkellä myymme ainoastaan Teclinen sukellusvarusteita, koska olemme Tecline-virallinen huoltokeskus, mutta ota rohkeasti yhteyttä, jos etsit jotain tiettyä, niin autamme mielellämme!
Ota milloin tahansa yhteyttä palveluihimme tai varusteisiimme liittyvissä kysymyksissä—autamme aina mielellämme!

OUR STORY
WHO ARE WE
” Dive With A Finn started as a watermark for my underwater photography hobby. Later on I thought that it would also work as a dive shop name and was pretty universal and easy to remember and clever wordplay since I am Finnish, therefore it became Dive With A Finn.
I started diving in Finland with a 7mm wetsuit and completed my open water and advanced open water diver certification before going on holiday to the caribbean. This was the start of my obsession for diving!
Later on I moved to Sweden, where I found a local PADI dive shop and where I did my my rescue diver course to get a feel for the shop and saw how a dive shop worked in a nordic country, which is a bit different from how they work in the tropics. I was entriqued and glad to see how fun all the instructors had with their students so I decided that I would also become a PADI professional by signing up for my divemaster course.
After my divemaster course I decided to aim to become an instructor and went to Thailand to do my IDC where I met my Catherine, my wife, in the same shop. She had become an instructor about 6 months prior to my IDC instructor course.
After my instructor course in Thailand I returned to Stockholm and worked 7 days a week with diving on top my normal dayjob as a music teacher and that lastes a few years when I decided to move to Thailand to work with diving full-time.
After a few years working in Thailand and Covid hit and our family had to make a difficult decision and return to Finland so we packed up our house and our animals and left Thailand to return to Finland.
I always wanted to open up my own dive shop and after getting settled I now have opened up this dive shop for all the locals here who love diving and hope to contribute more to the diving community in my hometown Kokkola. “

Our Teaching Methods
Learning By Doing
It is normal to be nervous when trying diving for the first time, or even when trying again after a long period out of the water. We know, and we are here to help.
Scuba diving is a thrilling and immersive experience that unveils the mysteries of the underwater world. Learning to scuba dive can be a transformative journey, and at our scuba diving school, we’ve adopted a ‘Learning by Doing’ methodology as the heart of our teaching philosophy. This approach emphasizes hands-on experience and active participation, ensuring that our students not only acquire the necessary skills to dive safely but also develop a profound love for exploring the depths.
The ‘Learning by Doing’ Philosophy
‘Learning by Doing’ is more than a teaching strategy; it’s a dynamic philosophy that empowers our scuba diving instructors to guide students through a voyage of discovery. At its core, this philosophy embraces the idea that true learning occurs through action and experience. In the context of scuba diving, it means immersing students in real-world scenarios and equipping them with the skills and confidence they need to explore the underwater realm.
Key Principles of the ‘Learning by Doing’ Philosophy:
- Immersion in Real Environments: Instead of keeping students in a classroom or confined training pool, we believe in exposing them to real diving environments as early as possible. This means engaging in open water dives and practice scenarios that mimic the actual conditions of the underwater world.
- Active Participation: Our students learn through active participation. They don’t just watch, they do. This hands-on approach accelerates skill development and builds confidence in a practical and effective way.
- Trial and Error: We encourage students to experiment and learn from their mistakes and mastert their skills. Scuba diving is a complex skill, and it’s okay to make errors along the way. Through these experiences, students refine their skills and gain a deeper understanding of the dive process.
- Continuous Feedback: Our instructors provide continuous feedback to help students improve their technique. This feedback loop allows learners to understand their progress and make necessary adjustments.
- Safety and Responsibility: Safety remains paramount. While ‘Learning by Doing’ embraces active participation, it doesn’t disregard safety. Our instructors maintain the highest standards and ensure that students become responsible and skilled divers.
The Benefits of ‘Learning by Doing’ in Scuba Diving Education
- Enhanced Skill Development: By learning through real experiences, students acquire practical skills more efficiently, increasing their proficiency in a shorter time frame.
- Confidence Building: Active participation and practical application of skills boost students’ self-assurance. This confidence is a vital aspect of safe and enjoyable diving.
- Deeper Understanding: ‘Learning by Doing’ encourages students to explore and discover the underwater world for themselves. This fosters a deeper connection to the environment and a lifelong passion for diving.
- Adaptability: Students become more adaptable and capable of handling a variety of diving situations, as they are exposed to real-world challenges from the start.
In the realm of scuba diving, the ‘Learning by Doing’ philosophy transforms the educational experience into a thrilling adventure. This approach allows students to embrace the underwater world with enthusiasm, actively participating and learning through practical experience. At our scuba diving school, we believe in equipping our students with not only the necessary skills but also a profound passion for exploration. Through ‘Learning by Doing,’ we ensure that every diver becomes a responsible, capable, and lifelong enthusiast of the deep sea.
